Emily Colasacco


Emily Colasacco has been the Director of the DOT Art Program at the NYC Department of Transportation since 2008. While at DOT, she has developed the agency’s first public art program and managed approximately 200 temporary art projects. She also manages Summer Streets, an annual celebration of NYC’s streets. In addition, she represents DOT on Percent for Art projects working closely with the Department of Cultural Affairs. Prior to joining DOT, Emily worked at the U.S. General Services Administration as a Public Affairs Specialist supporting the Art-in-Architecture Program, as well as organizing the Centennial celebration of the Alexander Hamilton Custom House. Before that, she worked at the Hudson River Museum as a Youth Program Specialist within the Education Department. Emily obtained a Masters degree in Visual Arts Administration from New York University and a Bachelors degree in both Art History and Studio Art from Binghamton University.
