Karen Davis


Karen Davis is a gallerist, teacher and photographer. She is co-owner/curator of Davis Orton Gallery, Hudson NY. The Gallery, in its 7th year, exhibits photography, mixed media and photobooks by emerging, mid-career and established artists. Karen has been an invited reviewer of portfolios at Photolucida, FotoFest, Griffin/CAA Reviews, Critical Mass (online) and Magenta Foundation’s Fence project.

For over 15 years she taught Photography Atelier, a portfolio development course and Marketing for Fine Art Photographers in the Boston area at Radcliffe Institute, Lesley University and, most recently at the Griffin Museum of Photography. She now teaches Portfolio Development and Marketing online through the Griffin.

Karen’s photographs are in the collections of the Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) at Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Lishui Museum of Photography (China) and Houghton Rare Books Library, Harvard University and can be seen at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA).
