Bob Croslin: Grounded: Winged Survivors of Florida’s Gulf Coast

Artist’s Statement:

The Gulfcoast bird sanctuary is a small wild bird hospital and sanctuary on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Hundreds of birds call the sanctuary home and even though rehabilitation and release is always the goal many of the birds brought in never leave. This project documents many of the sanctuary’s permanent residents while attempting to illustrate the damaging impact of man’s encroachment into native avian habitats.

Bob Croslin is a Florida-based commercial and editorial photographer. After graduating with a degree in photojournalism from the University of Florida, Croslin worked on staff at the Tampa Bay Times and MSNBC.com before deciding to embark on a freelance career in 2006.
