Shannon Thomas Perich is the curator of the Photographic History Collection at the Smithonian’s National Museum of American History. She is the author of The Changing Face in Portrait Photography: Daguerreotype to Digital, and Portrait of a Family Richard Avedon’s 1961 photographs of John F. Kennedy and family.
Perich teaches History of Photography at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and has blogged for National Public Radio’s “Picture Show.” Her research interests span the entire history of photography, but also what it means to be a curator of material culture in a digital world.
