Jessica Johnston


Jessica Johnston is the Assistant Curator of Photographs at George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography and Film, in Rochester, NY, the oldest and largest museum of its kind, established in 1946 with a mission to collect, preserve and interpret photographs and related objects to tell the story of photography for the purposes of learning and delight. She is responsible for developing exhibitions, recommending acquisitions, caring for the collection and teaching in the museum’s MA program in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management.

Johnston has worked at George Eastman House since 2006 and has curated, co-curated or coordinated 20 exhibitions during that time. She has reviewed portfolios at PSPF New York, SPE conferences, and Photolucida and is part of the review team at George Eastman House. She is currently preparing an exhibition on the photographic representation of food.
