Dr. Francine Weiss


Francine Weiss has been curating, teaching, and writing about photography for over fifteen years. As the recent Curator of the Photographic Resource Center (2012-2014), she organized contemporary photography exhibitions and edited Loupe journal. Prior to the PRC, she organized and researched exhibitions at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., Harvard University Art Museums, and deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.

Francine has published extensively about art and has taught at Wellesley and Simmons Colleges. She received her Ph.D. in photo history from Boston University. Francine teaches in the MFA in photography program at New Hampshire Institute of Art and in the art history department at Boston University and also works as the Collection Manager at Fitchburg Art Museum.
